As trained foundry technician specialising in the lost wax technique, Vera Spaeth masters all the production stages of bronze, aluminium, or brass sculptures as well as the realisation of wax, plaster, concrete, or resin sculptures. She executes the implementation of ideas or sketches into unique, miniature, monumental, or series of objects.
In collaboration with professionals, institutions, or individuals she realises projects mainly in the field of contemporary art and design, but also in the field of events, advertising, cinema, and theatre.
Vera Spaeth is able to meet the demands of even difficult projects and enjoys the challenge of identifying solutions for the impossible. Her passion for all kinds of materials and techniques allows her to experiment and create new combinations of them, adapted to each project’s needs.
Vera Spaeth was born in Germany, grew up in Switzerland and has been living in Paris since 2017.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Art and Design Education from the Bern University of the Arts (CH). After several internships in Swiss art foundries, she decided to learn the foundry trade in depth. She then completed a 3-year apprenticeship as a foundry technician at one of Switzerland's largest art foundries in Basel (Kunstbetrieb AG CH), which specializes not only in casting bronze and aluminium, but also in the production of contemporary works of art in various materials or of monumental dimensions. There she learned to work with bronze, brass, aluminium, steel, cement, resin and many other techniques.
Upon her arrival in Paris, she was able to pool all her expertise and began working as a freelancer for various artists, museums, production workshops and art foundries.
In 2018, she set up her first workshop in Saint-Denis, in the Paris suburbs.
Since 2023, she has been living and working mainly in Burgundy, specifically in the Côte-d'Or, half an hour from Dijon. She still has a workshop in Paris and offers all her services to both the capital and the Dijon region.
